What is the purpose of rotating the strange ring around the face of my watch?
Since purchasing my current clock eight years, I was surprised by a special feature that contains. Around the face is a gold ring that rotates. It makes a rattling noise when turned on, and do can be rotated in one direction (left). In the rotating ring is marked with numbers 5-60 in intervals of five (obviously something to do with the few minutes or seconds). Yes, the outer ring is generally defined for diving. The cardinal points are there, because you can get a good idea if you're north in the southern hemisphere and south if you are in the northern hemisphere with an analog watch or clock. If the clock is set to the early sun (not the summer, etc.), then select the position 12 in the sun. North / South and then halfway between the hour hand and 12. Thus, at 10, point 12 under the sun and in the north and south in the direction of the 11 mark. Obviously, it is difficult to use if you're in the tropics the sun is usually near the roof of the middle of the day, but it is easier to use in high latitudes.
